MRS. MARTIN KNUTSON DIED DEC. 20TH

Lettie Boe was born in Oslo, Norway November 12, 1853, and came alone to America at the age of sixteen.

For two years she lived in the state of Wisconsin, then name to Blair, becoming one of its earliest settlers.

In December 1874 she was united in marriage to Martin Knutson. To this union nine children were born, four of whom survive: Anton of Los Angeles, California; Minnie and Carroll of Pedro, South Dakota; and Elizabeth Eide of Philip, South Dakota. Also surviving are five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Her husband passed away in 1904.

In 1909 Mrs. Knutson and her family moved to South Dakota, and since that time made their home in the old Ash Creek and Pedro vicinities.

Mrs. Knutson was baptized and confirmed in Norway. Throughout a long and useful life she was a true Christian wife, mother and neighbor. The end came peacefully Monday evening, December 20th after a brief illness.

Funeral services were conducted at the First Lutheran Church at Philip, South Dakota Monday at 2:00 p.m., and the body was brought to Blair for interment beside the grave of her husband. Short services are conducted by Rev. John P. Brooks at the grave.

MRS. M. KNUDSEN TO BE BURIED HERE

Mrs. Martin Knudsen, an early settler in this county, passed away last Monday at her home in Pedro, South Dakota. The body will be brought to Blair for interment next Monday. A short funeral service will be held at the grave at 2 p.m.
