FORMER CALHOUN RESIDENT DIES

Mr. and Mrs. William Kay left Friday evening for Denver, Colorado, where they were called by the death of Mr. Kay’s sister, Mrs. Gus Fortum. Mrs. Kortum passed away at her home Thursday night.

The funeral services were held Monday morning, and burial was made in a cemetery in Denver.

Those who survive Mrs. Kortum are her father, Hans Kay, Sr., of Calhoun; two brothers, William and Hans also of Calhoun, and two sisters, Mrs. Lloyd Walker of Omaha and Mrs. Chris Anderson of Herman. Mrs. Kortum was born in Calhoun and made her home there until the time of her marriage.

Former Calhoun Woman is Dead

Hulda Kay Kortum of Denver, Colorado, a native of Fort Calhoun, died of pneumonia in a Denver hospital Armistice Day. Burial was made at Crown Hill Cemetery in Denver, November 15.

She was born February 12, 1902 at Fort Calhoun. Miss Kortum was graduated from the Fort Calhoun high school. She was married to Gus Forum of East Lake, Colorado on (illegible) … 8, 1925.

Survivors include her husband; (illegible)…daughter, Patricia Ann; father, Hans Kay Sr of Fort Calhoun; two sisters, Mrs. Chris Anderson of Herman and Mrs. Lloyd Walker of Omaha; and two brothers, William and Hans Kay, Fort Calhoun.
