RITES HELD FOR W. H. ROSENBAUM, 81, AT KENNARD

Was 81 Years Of Age And Had Resided In County Since 1882

William H. Rosenbaum, a resident of the Kennard vicinity since 1882, died at the home of his son, Ray, at one o’clock last Friday morning following an illness of two weeks of acute suffering from kidney trouble.

Deceased was born in Janesville, Lee County, Virginia on March 6, 1862, and was thus past 81 years of age. On October 20, 1887 he was married to Miss Clementin Falke of Marion, Virginia, and to them one son, Ray, was born.

When he came to this county in 1882, he followed his trade of blacksmithing, and while in the business he accidentally lost a hand. He took up farming on his farm three miles west of Kennard, and he was quite successful and prospered. His wife died in 1937, and he made his home with his son until his death.

Mr. Rosenbaum was strictly honest in his dealings and will be missed greatly in his community.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Kennard on Sunday, October 10, at 3 p.m. with Rev. A. W. Clarke of Arlington officiating, and interment was made in the Kennard cemetery.
