MRS. LOUISA VOTTH DIED JULY 2ND

Mrs. Louisa Votth, an early settler of this county, died last Friday, July 2nd, at the home of J. G. Giesselman near Arlington.

At her death she was 85 years of age, and had spent most of her life in this county. Her husband, Fred Votth, passed away eighteen years ago.

Mrs. Votth was a devout Christian woman, and had many warm friends in her community, friends who in past years have been proud to have known her.

She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Frank Scheer, of the same vicinity.

The daughter of Marie and Jobst Henry Giesselman, Mrs. Votth was born January 29, 1858 near Quincy, Illinois. She was baptized in infancy by Pastor Schmieding.

In 1868, at the age of nine years, she came to the state of Nebraska in a covered wagon. She was confirmed in 1873 by Pastor E. J. Frese at the Logan Creek Church near Hooper.

On March 9, 1881 she was united in holy wedlock with Friedrich Votth by Pastor J. Hilgendorf. Her husband preceded her in death on July 28, 1925, and since then she has made her home with a brother, J. G. Giesselman.

Pallbearers at the funeral Tuesday were H. Edward Giesselman, Henry Giesselman, Leonard Scheer, Edward Hilgenkamp, Henry Hilgenkamp and Cecil Lallman. The choir, directed by Prof. George Bluma, sang “Asleep in Jesus”. At the home preceding the church service Mrs. Walter Neiman and Mrs. Perry Toebben sang “Just As I Am”.

Out of town relatives and friends who were present for the services were Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Debel, Fred Guyer, Judge Albae H. Nelson of Blair; P. H. Leising and family and G. F. Bockerman of Arapahoe; Miss Edna Giesselman of Omaha; and Miss Ella Giesselman of Cheyenne, Wyoming.
