MRS. FRANK ERIKSEN DEATH VICTIM

Funeral services for Mrs. Frank Eriksen, long time Herman resident who died Thursday April 29, were conducted at the Herman Baptist Church on Sunday afternoon, May 2. Rev. A. W. Clarke, Methodist minister, officiated.

Music for the services was furnished by Mrs. Claude Yowell and Mrs. Floyd Loftis, with Mrs. G. F. Lowe as accompanist. Burial was made in the Herman cemetery; graveside services were held by the Herman Chapter O.E.S.

Pallbearers were three grandsons, Robert Curley, Jack Eriksen and Howard Eriksen, and three nephews, Gene Cram, Gordon Cram and Clyde Cram.

As Orinda Alberta Cram, the deceased was born at Fort Calhoun on April 6, 1871. She was only two months old when her parents moved to the New England neighborhood west of Herman, and there she made her home for more than sixty years. She taught music over a period of several years, some of her former pupils still residing in the New England community.

On December 5, 1891 she was married to Frank Ericksen. Nine children were born to their union, four sons and five daughters. The couple celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary in December, 1941 when a large number of relatives and friends gathered at the Herman Legion Hall to pay them tribute.

Mrs. Eriksen was a member of the New England Baptist Church, later transferring her membership to the Herman Baptist church. She took active part in the Ladies’ Guild and in Tekamah and Herman Chapter O.E.S.

Survivors include the bereaved husband and seven children: Mrs. Anna Larsen of Omaha, Mrs. William Sprick of Herman, Mrs. Howard Curley of Craig, Mrs. Ted Curley of Glendale, Calif., Mrs. William Sylvis of Herman, John of Herman and Jesse of Oakland; three brothers, four sisters, sixteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Two sons, Charles and Ivan, preceded their mother in death.
