EVERETT HOUGHTON RITES TUESDAY

Everett Houghton, a native of this county, but for the past twenty years a resident of Omaha, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Bernard Norton of Omaha, on Saturday, April 10th.

He had been in failing health for the past two years which finally resulted in his death at the age of fifty nine years of age. Deceased was born and reared in this county, the son of the late Charles Houghton, and he spent his entire life here up to twenty years ago. Then he moved to Omaha where he was in the employ of the Missouri Pacific railroad, which position he held until his death.

He leaves to mourn him four daughters, Mrs. Claude Allen, Mrs. John Bjork, Mrs. Bernard Norton and Mrs. Tom Campbell, all of Omaha; and one son, Charles Everett Houghton of Los Angeles.

Besides the widow and children, he leaves two sisters, Mrs. Clarence Zimmerman of Omaha and Mrs. Enoch Moore of Pender, Nebraska; and a brother, Clarence G. of Blair. All these grieve deeply his departure.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Crosby-Myers Funeral Home in Omaha, and interment was made in the Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Deceased was held in the highest respect by his old friends in Blair and also those in Omaha as was witnessed by the hosts of friends who were present at the last sad rites, and the respect was well earned as he was a man of highest ideals, honest and fair in his dealings with his fellow men.
