JOHN JACKSON IS BURIED AT HERMAN

Services were Monday, September 26, at Herman Methodist Church for John Jasper Jackson, 92, of Herman, who died September 22, 1983, at Good Shepherd Home.

The Rev. Larry Orvis officiated. Burial was in the Herman Cemetery.

John Jasper Jackson was born March 2, 1891, at Herman to Nelson and Julia King Jackson. He attended the New England School.

He married Gladys M. Hovendick in Blair on February 14, 1917. He farmed until 1959 at which time he moved to Herman.

He was a member of Herman Landmark Lodge No. 222 for 70 years and belonged to Chapter No. 216 Order of the Eastern Star. He was also a member of the Herman Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one great-grandchild; and seven brothers and sisters.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Eugene (Gracie) Husk, Herman, and Mrs. Merle (Marjorie) Border of Evansville, Minnesota. Seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Julia Bendorf, Eureka, California, also survive him.

Pallbearers were John Husk, Ronald VanKirk, Perry Gydesen, Gary Border, Charles Border and James Border.

Clare cowing was organist. Lois Wachter was vocalist.

Campbell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
