#1-27 Dec., 1922 - The Pilot - Dan VanTassell

Dan VanTassell died at the Blair hospital last Thursday following an illness of about five weeks with Bright’s disease. The funeral was held at the Christian Mission church on Saturday, being conducted by Rev. G. M. Barton. The exact date of Mr. VanTassell’s birth isn’t known since he has no relatives left here, but it is believed he was about 72 years of age. He had a letter in his pocket from his brother, W. H. of El Centro, Calif., the only known relative.

Dan Van Tassel died at the Blair hospital on Dec. 21, 1922 after an illness of about five weeks of bladder and kidney trouble. Age about 72 years. So far as is known he is survived by one brother who when last heard from lived at El Centro, California. The departed one lived for many years at 213 East Washington street of this city, and will be remembered by many friends and acquaintances.

Funeral services held at the Mission, corner of Washington and 2nd street, at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, conducted by Rev. C. N. Barton. Interment made at the Blair cemetery.
