27 Sept., 1922 - The Pilot - Dr. L. E. Disney

Dr. L. E. Disney was born in Milford township, Knox county, Ohio January 12, 1837, and died in the Crowell Memorial Home, Blair, Neb. September 25, 1922, aged 85 years, 8 months and 13 days. Dr. Disney was a great Sunday School worker in his younger days, a member of the Methodist Episcopal church. He was superintendent of one Sunday School for more than 25 years. He was a man of more than ordinary intelligence, kindly disposed, a gentleman of many noble qualities. He came to the Crowell Memorial Home about eight weeks ago and seemed to be in good health. He walked to church twice every Sunday and was a happy participant of the mid week meetings. He was with us only these few weeks, but we came to love him very much. The funeral was conducted from the Crowell Memorial Home at 10:30 a.m., September 27th, conducted by his pastor, J. A. Johnson, assisted by W. H. Underwood, superintendent of the Home. It was one of the most touching services the pastor has ever attended at the Home. The body was shipped to Peabody, Kansas for burial, and was accompanied by the Rev. Mr. Underwood, the superintendent.

DR. L. E. DISNEY DIES AT CROWELL HOME MONDAY

Another death occurred at Crowell Memorial Home last Monday, Sept. 25, thus making another break in the big family circle.

Dr. L. E. Disney, who had been a resident of the Home only a few weeks passed away very suddenly after a severe hemorrhage, although there had been no previous illness. Deceased came to the Home a few weeks ago from Iowa, and had won the confidence and esteem of all who met him, and he was fast gaining a place in the hearts of the church people as he attended services every Sunday and they thus had an opportunity to meet him and learn his true worth. He was born Jan. 12, 1837 in Knox Co., Ohio and was 85 years, 8 months and 13 days old at the time of his passing. He was superintendent of one Sunday school for more than 35 years and always actively engaged in church work.

The funeral was held at the Home at 10:30 Wednesday, conducted by his pastor, Rev. J. A. Johnson, assisted by Superintendent Underwood of the Home, and the body was taken to Peabody, Kansas for interment, accompanied by Rev. Underwood.
