Funeral services were Saturday, March 31, at Roper & Sons Chapel in Lincoln for Rev. John W. Ekwall, 98, of Blair. Burial was in Lincoln Memorial Park.

He was a World War I veteran and a member of the American Legion Post No. 3. He was also a member of the Chaplain of Norden Club, Masonic Lodge-Naomi Chapter, Mosaic Lodge No. 55, Damascus Commandery, and Sesostris Temple of Shrine.

He was a retired United Methodist Minister. He was residing at Crowell Memorial Home.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Merton L. and Bonnie Ekwall, Tallahasee, Florida; a daughter and son-in-law, Mildred E. and William Fager of Lincoln; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildred.

Memorials may be given to St. Paul United Methodist Church or Crowell Memorial Home.
