#1-2 Aug., 1922 - The Pilot - Margaret West

Mrs. Margaret West died on Thursday after a long illness. Margaret E. King was born December 14, 1838 in Lawrence county, Indiana. She was married to Miles West December 14, 1858. To this union were born eight children, four sons and four daughters. Four of the children have preceded their mother in death. The four remaining to mourn their mother’s departure are Robert, Horace, Killus and Mrs. Cora Smith, all of Herman. Mrs. West leaves seventeen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. At the age of fourteen Mrs. West united with the Christian church and held this faith until her death. She had been an invalid for the last three years. Death came to relieve her suffering July 26, 1922. Mrs. West at the time of her death was 84 years, seven months and twelve days old. Funeral services were held at the Baptist church conducted by Rev. F. S. Kestersen.

#2-3 Aug., 1922 - The Enterprise - Margaret West

Mrs. Margaret West passed away at her home here Wednesday night, July 26, following an illness due to her advanced age. She was past 86 years of age. She was the mother of eight children, four of whom are still living, and were at her bedside when death came to claim her. They are Robert Horace, Greeley, Killus and Mrs. Geo. Smith, all residing here. Funeral services were held here Friday afternoon at the Baptist church, and interment was made in the cemetery here beside the husband who passed away in 1904.
