#1-2 Aug., 1922 - The Pilot - Eliza Case

Mrs. S. E. Case died at her home in this city last Sunday morning of senile pneumonia that developed very suddenly following an attack of pleurisy for about a week. She had the strength to get up and dress herself Sunday morning and was dead before 9 o’clock. The funeral was held at the Methodist church at 2 o’clock Tuesday afternoon, Rev. J. A. Johnson officiating, assisted by Dr. H. J. Sealey. Eliza Hendricks was born in Keokuk, Ia. April 4th, 1859, and was therefore past 69 years of age. She came to this state with her parents when nine years old, and grew to womanhood in Cass County where she was married to Samuel E. Case September 18th, 1870. Five children were born to them, all in Cass county. Harvey died in infancy and Mrs. Emma Percy died 18 years ago. Samuel now lives at Craig and Mrs. Mollie Rathman and Mrs. M. C. Boston in this city. The family moved to this county in 1898 and Mr. Case died January 5, 1915. Mrs. Case has been living alone since his death; her daughter, Mrs. Rathman living next door. She was a great lover of home and flowers and was held in high esteem by all who knew her.

#2-3 Aug., 1922 - The Enterprise - Eliza Hendricks Case

Eliza Hendricks was born in Keokuk, Iowa April 4, 1853, and died in Blair, Nebr. July 30, 1922, aged 69 years, 3 months and 26 days. She came to Nebraska with her parents when she was nine years old. The family settled in Cass Co., where Eliza grew to womanhood, and where on September 18, 1870 she was married to Samuel E. Case, to which union five children were born, all born in Cass County. Harvey died in infancy and Mrs. Emma Percy died 17 years ago. The other three, Samuel, Jr., now living near Craig, Nebr.; Mrs. Mollie Rathmann and Mrs. M. C. Boston of Blair, Nebraska, are left to mourn for a loving mother. The husband and father died Jan. 5, 1915.

The family moved to Blair in the spring of 1898 where the deceased has lived until the time of her death.

Mrs. Case was a great lover of home, her garden and her flowers. She was held in high esteem by all who knew her, a loving mother and a good neighbor.

The funeral was held from the local Methodist Episcopal church Tuesday, August 1 at 2:00 p.m. The pastor, J. A. Johnson, having charge, and the Rev. Dr. Sealey assisting in the service.

MRS. SAMUEL E. CASE HAS PASSED AWAY

Mrs. S. E. Case died at her home in Blair Sunday, July 30, 1922, aged 69 years, 3 months and 26 days.

Eliza Hendricks was born in Keokuk, Iowa April 4, 1853, and came to Cass county, Nebraska with her parents when nine years of age. She had been a resident of Blair since 1898. She was married September 18, 1870 to Samuel E. Case and became the mother of five children, two of whom preceded her in death. The surviving children are Samuel, residing near Craig; Mrs. Mollie Rathmann and Mrs. Nettie Boston of Blair.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist church on Tuesday, conducted by the pastor, Rev. J. A. Johnson, and assisted by Dr. J. H. Seeley of the Congregational church. Interment was made at Blair.
