#1-21 June, 1922 - The Pilot, Blair, Nebraska

Clara Malone

Word was received here this morning of the death of Miss Clara Malone at the Wise Memorial hospital in Omaha at 1 o’clock last night following a severe operation performed there two weeks ago. Her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Malone are both buried in the Blair cemetery, and her body will be brought up on the 2 o’clock train tomorrow, and the funeral held at the Methodist church. Mrs. Orin Stricklett’s mother, Mrs. James Green of Little Crooked, Wyo. is an only sister. Mrs. O. A. Guyer of this city is a cousin; her mother, Mrs. Mary Miller being a half sister to Mrs. Sam Malone. Clara was born in West Virginia about forty years ago, and came here when but a girl and grew to womanhood in this city. She has made her home in Omaha for a number of years following her trade as dressmaker.

Miss Clara Malone, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Malone, former pioneer residents of this county, died at her home in Omaha on last Tuesday evening, June 20. Miss Malone was born and reared in Blair and attended our schools.

The body was brought to her old home here for burial, the funeral being held at the Methodist church today, Thursday, at 2 p.m. with Rev. J. A. Johnson officiating, and interment was made in the Blair cemetery.

FORMER BLAIR LADY DIES IN OMAHA - BURIED HERE TODAY

Miss Clara Malone, aged about 40 years, died in Omaha Tuesday following an operation for abcess of the liver two weeks ago. Miss Malone resided in Blair with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Malone, who died a number of years ago. She is a niece of Mrs. M. S. Miller and a cousin of Mrs. Oscar Guyer of Blair and Mrs. Oren Stricklett is a niece of the deceased lady.

The body arrived from Omaha this afternoon, and the funeral was held at the Methodist church, conducted by the local pastor, Rev. J. A. Johnson, assisted by Rev. W. H. Underwood, a former pastor of Miss Malone, and interment was made in the family lot in the cemetery east of town.
