#1-5 Apr., 1922 - The Pilot - Mrs. Alfred Marsh

Mrs. Alfred Marsh died at the Nicholas Senn hospital in Omaha yesterday, having undergone an operation for gall stones a few days ago. The body was brought up in the afternoon and the funeral will be held at 1:30 tomorrow, Thursday afternoon, at the home of her mother, Mrs. George McCoy on west Washington street, Rev. W. H. Underwood officiating. Mr. Marsh worked for Julius Petersen in the hardware store for a time, going up on his mother’s farm near Herman after his father’s death. Besides the husband and parents, she leaves two small children. They lost a son last winter of scarlet fever. Mrs. Holgar Hansen is a sister of the deceased, also Mrs. A. J. Sutherland and one sister, Evaline, who lives at home. Her only brother, Bryan, is out west somewhere, his address isn’t known.

#2-6 Apr., 1922 - The Enterprise - Vesta Marsh

Vesta Willa McCoy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. McCoy, was born at Blair, Nebraska Nov. 9, 1888, and was reared to womanhood on the home farm in the Rose Hill school district northwest of Blair, receiving her education at the Rose Hill school.

She was married to Mr. Alfred Marsh November 28, 1908, and to this union was born four children, two of whom are living, Harvey, aged 11 years and Fern, aged 7 years.

Mrs. Marsh had been ill for about six weeks with bladder trouble, and on Wednesday, March 29, was taken to the Nicholas Senn hospital of Omaha, and on last Saturday underwent an operation, but in her weakened condition she was unable to survive the shock, passing away on Tuesday morning at 9 o’clock.

A funeral service was held today at 1:30 at the home of her parents in this city, and at 2:30 at the Rose Hill church where interment was made in the Rose Hill cemetery.

Besides her husband and two children, she leaves to mourn, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. McCoy, three sisters, Mrs. Holgar Hansen, Mrs. A. J. Sutherland, Miss Evelyn McCoy and one brother, Bryan McCoy who is a resident of Colorado.

#3-13 Apr., 1922 - The Tribune - Vesta (McCoy) Marsh

The funeral of Mrs. Alfred Marsh was held from the home of her late parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. W. McCoy in this city last Thursday, Rev. W. H. Underwood officiating, and the remains were taken to Rose Hill for interment, many friends and relatives following the remains to their last resting place.

Vesta McCoy was born on a farm at Rose Hill November 9, 1888, and was married to Alfred Marsh in the city on November 28, 1908, passing away at the Nicholas Senn hospital in Omaha on April 4th. She was the mother of four children, one of whom died in infancy, and another, George, dying of scarlet fever last March.

On March 28th Mrs. Marsh entered the hospital and on the following Saturday underwent a severe operation, from which she apparently rallied for a time, but on Monday she grew worse and passed away. At her bedside were her grief-stricken mother and husband, the mother never leaving the bed except for a few hours' rest during the entire time. Besides her husband and two children, she leaves her parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. W. McCoy, three sisters, Mrs. A. J. Sutherland, Mrs. Holger Hansen and Evelyn, an only brother, Bryan, besides other relatives to mourn her untimely death.

Many floral tributes were given as a mute testimony of the esteem in which Mrs. Marsh was held. She was a good wife and an ideal mother and the grief-stricken relatives have the sympathy of all friends and neighbors in their hour of sorrow.

#4-6 Apr., 1922 - The Tribune - Vesta (McCoy) Marsh Mrs. Alfred Marsh passed away at an Omaha hospital Tuesday after undergoing surgical operation. The body was brought to Blair to the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. W. McCoy, and funeral services were held today, conducted by Rev. W. H. Underwood.
