BROTHER OF PROF. P. S. VIG BURIED HERE ON MONDAY

Marius Sorensen Vig, a brother of Prof. P. S. Vig, D.D., of Dana College, departed this life in McKenzy county, North Dakota on March 7, 1922, the cause of his death being pneumonia.

Marius Sorensen Vig was born September 7, 1866 at Vorbasse, Jutland, Denmark, and was one of several brothers.

In 1890 he came to America where four brothers had preceded him. He located in Iowa and afterwards moved to Wisconsin. In 1896 he went with a cattle company to McKenzie county, N.D., where he has since lived on a ranch. He was never married, having lost the sweetheart of his early life.

His nephew, James Vig of Ft. Benton, Mont., accompanied the remains to Blair, reaching here Sunday. The body was taken to the Campbell undertaking parlors to wait until the hour of the funeral from the Danish Lutheran church on Monday afternoon. The services were conducted by Rev. J. N. Hansen and Prof. P. S. Vig, and a full choir furnished the funeral songs.

The brothers surviving him are: Prof. P. S. Vig, D.D. of Dana College, Blair; Chris S. Vig, Brush, Colo.; Soren Chr. Vig, Luck, Wis.; and James and Mike of Harlan, Iowa. He joined the I.O.O.F. lodge at Roberts, Wis. in 1895.

As the living brothers were so widely scattered, and Blair seemed to be the most central place for them to reach, they decided that this was the right place to bring the body for interment, which was laid to rest on the very brightest day of the early spring in God’s Acre near our little city.
