CASPER HENRY STORK

Mr. Casper Stork, whose life came to a peaceful end last Monday morning, April 17, at 3 o’clock was one of the oldest settlers of Washington county, Nebr., having come here with his parents in 1857, four years before the beginning of the Civil War, and having lived here for 65 long years.

He was born in Westphalia, Germany in 1840. At the age of 12 he came to this country, and after residing in Quincy, Ill. for three years, came to Nebraska. In 1870 he was married to Miss Caroline Lillian. Thirteen children were born to this union, seven sons and six daughters. One daughter died 27 years ago at the age of 17 years.

Two years ago Mr. Stork, with his ever faithful wife, celebrated their golden wedding. For a number of years Mr. Stork was an elder and for 40 years a trustee of St. Paul’s Lutheran church.

The time of his pilgrimage was 81 years, 6 months and 25 days.

He is survived by a mourning widow, seven sons and five daughters. Funeral services were held at St. Paul’s Lutheran church Wednesday at 1:30 p.m.
