#1 MRS. EARL JACOBS

The sad news reached Blair last Thursday evening of the sudden death of Mrs. Earl Jacobs who had undergone an operation for appendicitis in the Clarkson Hospital of Omaha some two weeks previous and who had been getting along nicely. Her recovery had been all that could be expected and arrangements were made for her return to her family but such was not to be. A blood clot formed at the base of the brain snapped the chord of life and she was gone almost instantaneously.

The deceased, Bessie A. Deldridge, was born in Coon Rapids, Iowa, October 14, 1885 and was married to Mr. Earl W. Jacobs in Omaha, November 18, 1902 and to this union six children were born, four girls and two boys: Clyde, aged 21, Earl 19, Marian 17, Helen 15, Betty 6 and Jean 2 1/2 years, all being at home except Clyde, who is in Uncle Sam's service at Ft. Crook.

Mrs. Jacobs was a good mother and wife and had a host of friends who will miss her. She was a consistent Christian and a member of the Episcopal church of this city and also of the Royal Neighbors lodge.

The funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. from the home and later at the Episcopal church with Rev. Marsh, who had been her former pastor and who had been a daily caller at her bedside while she was in Omaha, officiating and interment was made in the Blair cemetery where a vast concourse of friends followed the remains to the last resting place thus showing their great respect for the departed and their sympathy for the grief stricken family.

Besides her immediate family, the deceased leaves a mother and two sisters in Omaha and one sister in Council Bluffs.
