#1-7 Apr., 1921 - The Enterprise - Gertrude Christian (Nelson) Jensen

The death of Mrs. Knut Jensen occurred Tuesday night, April 5, at ten o’clock at her home just south of town.

Gertrude Christian Nelson was born in Denmark July 1, 1847, being nearly 74 years old at the time of her death. She had been a sufferer with cancer and was bedfast since last November.

She leaves her husband and two children, Mrs. Chris Paulsen and Nels Jensen, both residents of Blair and a granddaughter, Miss Lydia Jensen, who lived with the grandparents and tenderly cared for the deceased during her late illness.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon, April 7, at 1:30 from the home and 2:15 from the Danish Lutheran church. Rev. I. M. Hansen has charge of the services, and a college choir will sing.

FUNERAL OF MRS. KNUD JENSEN HELD THURSDAY

The funeral of Mrs. Knud Jensen, who passed away on April 5, was held Thursday afternoon, interment being made in the Blair cemetery.

Gertrude Christina Nelson was born July 1, 1847 at Odense Fyn, Denmark. She was married to Knud Jensen on March 16, 1872. In the spring of 1881 they came to America to seek their fortune, locating in Washington county, Nebraska, where she continued to reside until her demise.

She leaves to mourn a faithful wife and loving mother her husband, Knud Jensen, one son, Nels L. Jensen, one daughter, Mrs. Chris Paulson, nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Interment will be made in the Blair cemetery.
