18 Nov., 1920 - The Enterprise - Champ Donnelly

John "Champ" Donnelly, for many years a citizen of Washington county, died at his home in Weimerville on last Saturday night at the age of 63 years.

The deceased had been sick twenty two months, and had sought relief at the Springs and also at the Mayo Bros. hospital at Rochester, Minn., but the nature of his malady could not be determined.

Short funeral services were held on Monday, Nov. 15, at the home by Father Beyersdorfer of the Catholic faith, and the body was taken to Holyoke, Colo., accompanied by his stepson, Wilbur Matthews, and laid to rest beside his father and mother, who had preceded him in death.

With his parents, Mr. Donnelly came west in 1882 from Virginia, and lived on the farm now owned by J. Johns. There was a large family of children, two of whom are still living near Blair. They are Mrs. John Reid and Mrs. Louis Schenck.

He was married a few years ago and lived on his farm in Weimerville until his death. His widow and stepson survive him.
