#1-19 Aug., 1920 - The Enterprise - Count Christian Van Knuth

Count Christian Van Knuth, known to many people in Blair and vicinity, was shot and killed by Milton W. Armour. It seems that the Count followed Mr. Armour home, bent on a row, forced himself into the house where he met his death as stated.

Van Knuth came to this place from Denmark, and worked as a farm hand for the Grimm Bros. and later took up the real estate business which he followed until his death. He was married a little over a year ago and leaves his wife to mourn him.

Jury Justifies Armour Shooting

Omaha, Neb., Aug 17. A coroner’s jury late today returned a verdict holding that Milton W. Armour, manager of a local hotel grill, was justified in shooting Christian Van Knuth, real estate dealer, last night.

Van Knuth, who died in a hospital had claimed to be a Danish count, but was naturalized as an American several month ago. Armour said Van Knuth followed him home after their automobiles nearly collided and forced his way into the Armour residence where the shooting occurred. Van Knuth was ‘infuriated” over the automobile accident, according to Mr. Armour.
