SIDNEY SMITH BLANCHARD

Sidney Smith Blanchard, one of the pioneer settlers of this county, died at his home in Orchard, Neb. on Aug. 1, 1920.

He was born in Walcott, Onondaga County, N.Y. Sept. 30, 1843, and was married to Miss Margaret J. McLellan in N.Y. Feb. 6, 1866. To this union five children were born, one son, John Elmer, being killed at the age of 6 years.

They came to this county in the fall of 1867, and settled on a large farm near Elk City where they resided until the spring of 1906 when they moved to Orchard, Antelope county, Neb.

He leaves to mourn him the widow, four children and one grandchild; Chas. H. of Herman, Mrs. Maude B. Gray, Mrs. Olive B. Alexander of Orchard, Neb. and Geo. W. of this city.
