JAMES DUANE BROWN

Funeral services were held last Saturday afternoon at the Baptist church over the remains of James Duane Brown, a former Blair citizen.

The deceased was at the time of his death living with his daughter, Mrs. Bert Haines, at Bloomfield, Neb.

Mr. Brown was born in New York State November 14, 1843 and died May 13, 1920.

He moved with his parents to Canada when five years of age, and in 1864 came to Benton county, Iowa. In 1866 he came to Washington county, Nebraska where he lived until recently.

In 1871 he married Lydia Ellen Hopson at Magnolia, Iowa.

There are three children surviving, Mrs. Bert Haines of Bloomfield, Neb.; Mrs. O. J Merico of Omaha and Edwin Brown of Tekamah.

Deceased also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Jo Thompson of Grand Island and Mrs. R. E. Bowie of Vinton, Iowa. Interment was made in Blair cemetery, Rev. Foreman having charge of the funeral services.
