WILLIAM McCANDLISH

Wm. McCandlish, formerly of this county, will be remembered by many friends in this county, his father Wm. McCandlish, Sr. having farmed the J.E. Markel place when Wm. was but a boy.

While living in this county he met and married Miss Mabel Hebdon, who will also be remembered by our citizens as a good, sincere, winsome girl, the daughter of Rev. Hebdon of the Methodist church.

Wm. studied and became an electrical engineer and after his marriage his work called him to various places, the last being that of Wichita, Kansas where he has resided for some time.

A short time ago he contracted the “flu” and fell a victim to this dread disease, passing away on last Monday.

He leaves to mourn him a wife and two children, about eight and ten years of age respectively, and they will sorely miss him as he was a model husband and father.

Only a few weeks ago the McCandlish family visited friends in Blair and Omaha and Blair people enjoyed seeing and visiting with them again. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 30, in Omaha.
