VIRGIL D. JACOBS, 70

Funeral services for Virgil Jacobs, 70, of Blair, were held on Thursday, Jan. 4, 2001, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home.

Interment was at the Herman Cemetery.

Mr. Jacobs died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

Virgil D. Jacobs was born Feb. 26, 1930, in Blair to Roy and Florence (Gilbert) Jacobs. He graduated from Blair High School in 1947.

He entered the Air force in 1948, and served in Korea during the Korean War.

On Oct. 18, 1952 he married Helen Snyder of Tekamah at Eureka Springs, Ark.

Mr. Jacobs worked for Blair Manufacturing for 40 years, retiring in 1996.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Stuart and Linda Jacobs of Omaha, three grandchildren, two sisters, Norma Helms of Blair and Shirley (Moore) Schock of Norfolk, and many nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, three brothers, and three sisters. Memorials are suggested to the Blair Rescue Squad.

Campbell-Aman Funeeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
