EARLY BLAIR SETTLER IS DEATH VICTIM

Mrs. Robert P. Petersen of Long Pine, Nebraska, an early resident of Blair and Herman, died at the hospital in Long Pine, Nebraska March 12, at the age of 74 years. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Julius Andersen home in Long Pine, Rev. Sharp in charge, and burial was made in the cemetery there.

As Louise Jane Pyles, the deceased was born near Portland, Ohio on July 16, 1867. She came to Blair with her parents at the age of twelve, and here she grew to womanhood and was united with the Baptist Church. On May 30, 1859 she was married to Robert P. Petersen of Tekamah. They spent the early part of their married life on a farm northeast of Herman; in 1921 they moved to Milboro, South Dakota and later they lived near White River, South Dakota. Two years ago the couple observed their Golden Wedding anniversary.

Survivors include the husband, four children, Mrs. Maude Hungate of Lusk, Wyoming; Mrs. Clara Andersen of Long Pine, Nebraska; and twin sons, Ed P. of Mission South Dakota and Fred R. of Ogden, Utah; two sisters, Mrs. Vena Baker of Blair and Mrs. Mary Harper of Herman; a brother, Henry Pyles of Fremont; and eight grandchildren.
