Former activities director at Crowell Home

Phyllis D. Petersen, 88, of Tecumseh, died Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011, at Belle Terrace in Tecumseh.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3, at the Grand Island Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 2, at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh.

Phyllis D. Stockwell was born July 24, 1923, at Rushville to Clarence and Eula (Brown) Stockwell. She graduated from Grand Island High School.

She married Robert Linder in 1944. They later divorced.

She moved to Blair in 1976 and worked as the activity director for the Crowell Nursing Home until her retirement in 1986. She then married Don Petersen in 1986; he died in 1991.

She moved to Ridgeview Towers in Tecumseh in 2008 and later transferred to Belle Terrace in 2009. In her spare time, she enjoyed going to coffee, visiting with her friends, being active in her church and doing word puzzles.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Cheryl Linder of Everett, Wash., daughter and son-in-law, Cecelia and Art Thompson of Cook; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Don, she was preceded in death by a son, Joe Linder, and a sister, Virginia Kennedy.
