Funeral services for Mrs. Lillie Philbrook of Fort Calhoun were held Wednesday afternoon, May 6, at the Sievers Funeral Home. Rev. Thomas Sandlin, Presbyterian pastor, officiated, and interment was made in the Fort Calhoun cemetery. Mrs. Philbrook had passed away on the preceding Sunday, May 3.

As Lillie Belle Hankins, she was born at Loogootee, Illinois on February 27, 1871. She was married to Frank Philbrook at Avena, Illinois on February 25, 1896, and five sons were born to them, three of whom are still living. Preceded in death by her husband, Mrs. Philbrook is survived by the sons, Clarence, Orville and Russell; two sisters, Mrs. N. J. Dunlap of Urbana, Illinois and Mrs. E. R. Grieder of Springfield, Illinois; four brothers, Jeff Hankins of St. Elmo, Illinois, Sam of Bellingham, Washington, George of St. Louis, Missouri and Fred of Marshall, North Dakota; and several other relatives.
