NIELS ANDERSEN BURIED SUNDAY

Niels P. Andersen, a resident of this county since 1881, passed away at his home in this city at 12:15 a.m. Friday at the age of seventy eight years.

Deceased was born in Denmark on December 24, 1863, and came to America in his early manhood in 1881. He at once came to this county and secured work with Chris Jensen of the McCarthy school district. While there he attended the district school, learning to speak, read and write English.

In 1885 he was married to Inger Maria Christensen, and to them five children were born, all of whom survive, the wife and mother passing away three years ago.

After his marriage he purchased a farm on York Creek where he resided until 1920 when he retired and moved to Blair. Here he was in business for a time.

In his dealings he was always fair and honest and he had a large circle of friends who knew him for his many virtues as a good citizen.

Deceased was a member of the First Lutheran Church and of the Danish Brotherhood, in both of which he was held in high esteem.

The children are Nels of Winside, Nebraska; Hans of Blair; Carl of Los Angeles, California; Mrs. Walter Christensen of Salt Lake City; and Mrs. Albert Madsen of Herman. Besides these he leaves seventeen grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Funereal services, under the direction of Chris K. Bendorf, were held Sunday at 2 p.m. with Rev. H. C. Jorgensen in charge, and interment was made in the Blair cemetery.
