S. S. RUTLEDGE DIED AUGUST 28

Sydney S. Rutledge of Pender, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Rutledge of Herman, died in an Omaha hospital on August 28. Funeral services were held at the Herman Methodist church on Sunday with A. W. Clarke officiating, and burial was made in the Herman cemetery.

Mr. Rutledge was born October 25, 1886. He grew up in the Herman community, and was educated in the Nebraska City School for the Blind. He is survived by his wife, the former Hazel Jackson of Herman, and by a daughter, Mrs. John Bichner of Omaha. One daughter died in infancy. Other survivors include three granddaughters and three brothers, W. J. of Omaha, D. W. of Herman and C. W. of Pender.
