GEORGE WACHTER DIES AT PENDER

George Wachter, well known former Herman man, died at his home in Pender Sunday. He was nearly 81 years old at the time of his passing.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. Antone Wachter, he was born in Mascoutah, Illinois on December 7, 1862. When a small boy he moved to Herman, residing there until 1929. He had conducted a hardware business until his recent retirement.

Wachter is survived by his widow, the former Laura Fuess; two daughters by a former marriage, Miss Vera Wachter of Pender and Mrs. Gilmore Weber of Vancouver, Washington; also a grandchild.

Funeral services were held on Thursday morning at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Pender, with burial in the Blair Cemetery.
