HAROLD JACOBSEN, 65

Services for Harold Jacobsen, 65 of Blair who died February 15, 1995 at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair were Saturday, February 18 at the United Lutheran Church in Laurel, Nebraska. Rev. Kenneth Marquardt officiated. Burial was in the Laurel Cemetery with military services by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4504 and American Legion Post No. 54.

Harold Edward Jacobsen was born February 13, 1930 on a farm two miles east of St. Francis Catholic Church in Randolph, Nebraska to Axel and Helga Bach Jacobsen. He was baptized at the United Lutheran Church in Laurel and confirmed at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Laurel.

He graduated from Belden High School in Belden, Nebraska in 1949.

He entered the United States Army in 1951 and served from 1952-1953 in the Koren Conflict.

He worked for Kelly Ryan Manufacturing and the city of Blair for over 20 years.

He was a member of First United Lutheran Church, VFW Post No. 1251 and American Legion Post No. 154, all in Blair.

He married Sharon L. Reiff November 16, 1963 at the Lutheran Church in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Jacobsen of Blair; one son and daughter-in-law, Eric Scott and Mary Jacobsen of McCook, Nebraska; one granddaughter, Gabrielle Marie Jacobsen of McCook; five brothers and one sister-in-law, Raymond Jacobsen of Denver, Colorado; Edmund and Connie Jacobsen of Fort Logan, Colorado; Vernon Jacobsen of Englewood, Colorado; Erhardt Jacobsen of Randolph, Nebraska and Eugene Jacobsen of Laurel; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Genevieve Cordell of Phoenix, Arizona; Norma Jean and Ed Todd of Des Moines, Iowa and Joyce and Merlin Schellpepper of Grants Pass, Oregon; and nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Mike Jacobsen, Morris Jacobsen, Duaine Jacobsen, Dale Bach, Kenneth Bach and Loren Keifer.

Anita Gade was organist.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Schumacher Funeral Home in Laurel.
