HERMAN SCHEER DIES WHILE VISITING IN MISSOURI

Was Life-Long Resident Of The Fontanelle Vicinity

Herman Scheer, a life-long resident of Fontanelle vicinity in Washington county died early this week relatives have learned. He passed away in Columbia, Missouri at the home of his daughter, Mrs. George Wolter with whom he had been visiting since Thanksgiving.

Survivors include four children, Arthur, better known as Barney, who is serving in the army overseas; Mrs. Wolter; Clarence of Fontanelle; and Elmer of Fremont.

Funeral arrangements have not yet been completed.

HERMAN SCHEER RITES DECEMBER 26

Herman Scheer, 69, a lifetime resident of Fontanelle, was buried at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church service north of Arlington Saturday, December 26.

A prayer service for the relatives was held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Drafahl funeral home in Fremont. Services were held at 2:30 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran church with Rev. Hellman officiating.

Mr. Scheer had resided on his farm southeast of Fontanelle until last Thanksgiving day when he decided to spend the winter with his daughter, Mrs. George Wolter and family of Forest Green, Missouri. On Tuesday, December 22, he suffered a stroke and gradually grew weaker until his death.

Surviving are three sons, Arthur who is stationed with the United States army in Hawaii; Clarence of Nickerson; and Elmer of Fremont; one daughter, Mrs. George Wolter of Forest Green, Mo.; six grandchildren; four brothers and one sister.
