Funeral services for Peter Frandsen Christensen, respected Herman citizen, were held in Herman’s Baptist church Saturday afternoon, November 29. Rev. T. J. Reese of Jefferson, Iowa, a former pastor of the Herman congregation, officiated; burial followed in the Herman cemetery.

Mr. Christensen was 76 years old at the time of his death in the Blair Hospital on Thanksgiving Day. Born in Denmark May 6, 1866, he came to America at the age of 18, and settled in Blair. On April 2, 1891 he was married to Olena Hansen, and they farmed for a time near Kennard, moving in 1904 to the farm west of Herman where he had since resided.

He was confirmed in the Lutheran Church when a young man and had been a member of the I.O.O.F. for 46 years.

Survivors include the widow and eight children: Mrs. Sena Hansen, Mrs. Elfreda Hansen, Mrs. Elna Embrue of Herman; Francis Christensen of Blair; Fred and Clarance Christensen of Buhl, Idaho; Mrs. Cleo Connell of Tryon; and Mrs. Lillie Chamberlain of Nebraska City. A daughter, Dagmar, preceded him in death in 1926. Mr. Christensen also leaves 25 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
