F. W. BAILEY, 51, DIES OF ILLNESS

Francis William Bailey, a native of Blair, died here Thursday, October 23, after several months’ illness. Funeral services were held in Herman Sunday at the Methodist church with Rev. A. W. Clarke officiating, and interment was made in the Blair cemetery.

Only 51 years of age at the time of his passing, Mr. Bailey was born in Blair on February 5, 1890. On August 23, 1911 he was married to Trudie Fern Frye, and to this union were born six children: Mrs. S. W. Brown, Hot Springs, South Dakota; John, serving in the U.S. Army in Manilla, P.I.; Roy William and Helen of Herman; Mrs. Robert Dilley of South Bend, Washington.

For a time after their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Bailey assisted Mrs. Bailey’s father, the late Cass Frye on his farm north of Blair. They then lived northwest of Tekamah, and later they were Herman residents. In 1928 they moved to South Dakota where Mr. Bailey had been employed in the mines at Custer since 1939. He was taken ill early last summer, and had been among relatives in this vicinity since July 28.

Surviving are the widow and six children; three brothers, Ben and Guy of Blair and Walter of Gary, Indiana and three grandchildren.
