CHRIS JANSEN DIED JULY 9

Chris Jansen, farmer living northwest of Bennington, ended his life on July 9th by hanging. Chris, who had never married, lived with a sister, Mrs. Ann Melton, who had kept house for him for the past twenty nine years.

He had been in ill health for years, and this undoubtedly was the cause of his act. He was born February 11, 1888, and had spent his entire life on the farm where he died, and in the entire neighborhood he was honored for his upright life.

He leaves three sisters, Mrs. Anna Melton, on the farm; Mrs. Henry Paulson, Bennington; and Mrs. Leonard Nichols of Omaha.

Funeral services were held from the home on Sunday, and interment made in the German cemetery.
