FRED ENGER CALLED

Fred Enger, 66, a well known farmer of the Herman community for many years, died Sunday evening at the Blair Hospital following a stroke.

Funeral services were held at the Baptist church in Herman Wednesday afternoon at two o’clock, conducted by Eric Christensen of Blair, assisted by Rev. Hans Nielsen, also of Blair. Burial was made in the Blair cemetery.

Hans Frederick Enger was born December 17, 1874 at Howells, Nebraska, and passed away with a stroke Sunday evening, June 15, 1941 at the Blair Hospital, aged 66 years, 5 months and 29 days. He was baptized in the Lutheran faith in infancy and confirmed in the Lutheran church when a young man. He was united in marriage January 7, 1903 to Mary Sorensen of Herman. The young couple moved to a farm three miles northwest of Herman where they were living at the time of his death. To this union seven children were born, one dying in infancy. Surviving are his wife, three sons, Alfred of Blair, Victor of Herman and Howard, Washington,D. C.; three daughters, Mrs. Viola Patrick, Craig; Mrs. Evelyn Magill, Herman and Miss Mildred Enger of Omaha. One sister, Mrs. Anna Sorensen, Blair; three grandchildren and Norma Clare Hendrickson of Blair.
