MRS. THOMAS MEAD DIES IN S.D.

Announcement of the death of Mrs. Thomas Mead on April 27 at the home of her son, James, in Wesington Springs, South Dakota, was made in last week’s Enterprise. A complete obituary of Mrs. Mead, a former Blair resident, follows:

Mrs. Thomas Mead was 82 years old at the time of her death, April 27. As Hannah Elizabeth Ballard, she was born March 1, 1859 in Kellogg, Iowa; in February, 1878, she was united in marriage to Thomas F. Mead at Newton, Iowa. Of the nine children born to them, six survive: three daughters, Mrs. J. B. Stricklett, Mrs. Clarence Taylor and Mrs. Edward Ader of Omaha; and three sons, James, Giles and Ben, all of Wesington Springs. Mrs. Mead has a host of friends around Blair who will remember her as a former resident of this city. She is a sister-in-law of Mrs. C. B. Bunn and a cousin of Dr. C. R. Mead and Miss Gertrude Mead.
