EARLY SETTLER RITES MONDAY

Earl Dawson, well known here in the early history of Blair, was buried in the Blair cemetery last Monday. He died at his home at Madison, Nebraska.

Back in the early eighties, Dawson was head clerk in the Mrs. T. C. Hilton Ladies Furnishing store. The store at that time was located about where the James Mose confectionery now stands, and was later sold to Nels Austerlund and was then destroyed by fire.

After the Hiltons moved to Omaha, when Mr. Hilton owned what is now The Journal Stockman, Dawson left Blair, and later settled at Madison where his death occurred. He was a man of ability and was held in high respect by his old friends who remembered him when in Blair.
