Evelyn “Mick” Baker, 70

Evelyn “Mick” Baker, 70, of Arlington, died Sunday, May 9, 1999, at the Fremont Area Medical Center. There will be no visitation; the body is to be cremated.

Services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 19, at the Arlington Community Church. The Rev. Lynn Martin will be officiating.

Burial will be in the Arlington Cemetery.

Evelyn “Mick” Baker was born April 14, 1929, to Hans and Frieda Miller at Horton, Kansas. She grew up in Omaha and Auburn, Nebr., and was a graduate of Auburn High School.

On December 12, 1952, she married Edward E. Baker in Missouri Valley, Iowa.

She was a dental technician in Omaha until 1954, and then, a stenographer for Four Seasons Heating and Air Conditioning in Omaha. In 1975 she moved to Fremont and worked at Charleston, Inc. She retired in 1991.

Evelyn Baker was a member of The Arlington Community Church, the V.F.W. Post #8332 Auxiliary at Arlington, and was a former member of the American Legion Auxiliary at Arlington.

She is survived by her husband, Ed; daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Bill Ellsberry of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Step-daughter, Mary Killpack and her husband, Kenneth, of Minden, Iowa; one sister, Martha Nannen of Pace, Fla.; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley and Earl Kurtz of Gig Harbor, Wash., Ruth and Garth Meyers of Norfolk, and Betty and Donald Miller of Wisner; brother-in-law, Gene Baker of Omaha; two grandchildren, Michael and Brandy Echbery; three step-grandchildren, four step- great- grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Larry; and three sisters, Donna and Ginny Miller and Marie Stuberg.

Memorials are suggested to Arlington Community Church or the Arlington Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad.

Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington will be in charge of arrangements.
