OLD SETTLER RITES SUNDAY

Mrs. Soren Larsen, who for the past three years has made her home with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Paulsen of this city, passed away Wednesday morning, January 15. As Dorothea Jensen, she was born October 1, 1848 in Denmark where she grew to womanhood, and on October 28, 1881 she was wed to Soren Larsen. They came to America on April 11, 1904, settling first at Turin, Iowa. In the same year they moved to Blair where they have since made their residence.

Besides her husband, she is survived by four children, Chris of Junction City, Oregon; Mrs. Marie Espersen of Dannebrog, Nebraska; Mrs. Martin Paulsen of Blair and Fritz of Omaha. One sister in Denmark also survives and nineteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held last Sunday at the home at 1:30 p.m. and at the First Lutheran church in Blair with Rev Jorgensen officiating, and interment in charge of Chris K. Bendorf was made in the Blair cemetery.
