Funeral Service for Donald W. Weikle Sr. Immanuel Lutheran Church, Orum, Nebraska 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 4, 2002. Entrance of the Family. Opening Readings and Prayers. Lunch and an opportunity to visit with the family following the interment will take place at Immanuel Church, Orum.

Donald W. Weikle was born to Luther and Celia (Mize) Weikle on June 9, 1920 at Fairview, Kansas. He was baptized in the Fairview Baptist Church in 1932 and later confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lincoln, NE in 1947. He attended the Fairview High School.

His marriage to Virginia Becker took place April 6, 1947 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lincoln, NE. They lived in Lincoln until moving to Omaha in 1958 and in 1970 moved to rural Blair where they resided at the time of his death.

Donald worked for Western Electric, Lincoln and for Union Carbide Co., Carter Lake, IA for 32 years. He served in the Army during WWII. He was a member of the Herman Masonic Lodge #274, Herman American Legion and the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Orum.

Death came to him at the Memorial Community Hospital in Blair on Tuesday morning, October 1, 2002 with his wife at his side. He leaves to mourn his death his wife Virginia, son and daughter-in-law Donald W. Jr and Bonnie, Ft. Wayne, Indiana; son Roger; two grandchildren, Barry J. and Thomas J. Weikle of Ft. Wayne; two brothers, Ernest, Omaha, NE and Vern, Harrisburg, VA.

Interment will be at the Lincoln (Orum) Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Orum.

May he rest in God’s Eternal Peace.
