SERVICES SUNDAY FOR MRS. O. GROTHE

Mrs. Oscar Grothe passed away December 14 as the result of a stroke. Funeral rites were held last Sunday from the Bendorf Funeral Home with Rev. Sidney L McCaig officiating. Interment was made in the Blair cemetery.

Margaret Barron, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Barron, was born October 11, 1885 at St. James, Nebraska where she attended school and grew to womanhood.

On Nov. 27, 1905 she was united in marriage to Oscar Grothe, the ceremony taking place at Harrington. Eight children were born to Mrs. and Mrs. Grothe.

Shortly after their marriage they moved to a farm southeast of DeSoto. Mrs. Grothe has been an invalid for years, and her death was not unexpected.

She leaves her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Glenn Green of Herman, four sons, Dale of Herman, Ernest and John of Omaha, Thomas of Sioux City; Ben and Glenn of California, and Richard of Blair, and eleven grandchildren. Besides her immediate family she leaves three sisters, Mrs. Eliza Ferber of California, Mrs. Edith Schultz of Omaha and Mrs. Laurence Hansen of Sioux City.
