JOE JOHNSON DIES AT 84 YEARS

Joe Johnson, retired farmer and highly respected citizen, passed away this morning (Thursday) at 5:30 o’clock in the Clarkson Hospital in Omaha. At his death he was past 84 years of age.

He was born and reared to young manhood in Sweden. While yet a young man he came to America, settling near Tekamah where he had relatives. For a number of years he worked as a farm hand.

He was married to Julia Olson and they immediately started farming near Tekamah. Later he moved to a farm north of Craig, Nebr., and some years ago he purchased a farm west of Blair where he resided until three years ago when he retired and moved to Blair.

His wife and one son, Les Johnson of Ogden, Utah, are left to mourn him. Two brothers and one sister preceded him in death. He is the last of the family to be called.

He was a man of high moral character and his word was his bond. He was a member of the Methodist church and of the I.O.O.F. lodge and in both cases he really lived up to the precepts of the organizations.
