MRS. C. HOUGHTON DIED SEPT. 23TH

Mrs. Clara Houghton, who for years has resided on East Lincoln Street, Blair, died September 23rd at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Enoch Moore of Pender following an illness of three months.

Mrs. Houghton, as Miss Clara Edith Koontz, was born September 9, 1879 in Lincoln Township, Kansas. She was married to Charles A. Houghton on June 29, 1903. Her husband preceded her in death on November 24, 1940, and she continued to make her home in Blair until her last illness.

Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Enoch Moore of Pender, Neb.; one stepson Clarence Houghton of Lyons, Neb.; one sister, Mrs. Elsie Bunting of Hastings, Neb.; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Sept. 26th, from the Campbell Mortuary with Rev. D. D. Kennedy officiating, and interment was made in the Blair cemetery.
