REID JACOBSEN, 80

Funeral services for Reid Jacobsen, 80, also well known as Call No. WOTYG of Blair, who died at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair, June 17, 1990, after a brief illness, will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, at the Campbell-Aman Funeral Home with Dr. Howard Bailey officiating. Burial will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Reid H. Jacobsen was born on December 26, 1909 at Florence, Nebraska to William and Irene Harding Jacobsen. He attended grade school in Florence and later attended North High School.

On July 3, 1943 he married Janet McDonald at Rochester, New York.

He worked as an engineer for KMTV at the time of his retirement. He was an engineer for the first FM radio station in Omaha.

An avid Ham Operator for many years, he was a member of the Quarter Century Wireless Association, member and past president of the Northeast Nebraska Amateur Radio Operator Club since 1935.

He is survived by his wife, Janet; two daughters and sons-in-law, Dawn and Al Thompson, Omaha, and Gayle and Joe Roberts, Minden, Iowa; grandchildren, Patrick and Peggy Thompson, Pam Jones, Derek, Kyle and Tahni Roberts and one sister, Carolyn Musgrove of Evanston, Illinois.

Reid was preceded in death by his parents.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
