ALICE MITCHELL RITES IN ARLINGTON

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Reckmeyer and Son funeral chapel for Alice Marie Mitchell, only daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Mitchell. Alice was born in Arlington, Nebraska on April 18, 1920, and passed away at Norfolk, Nebraska at the age of 28 years, 3 months and 17 days. She contracted quick tuberculosis and has been very ill the past seven months. She received her education in the Arlington schools and was a member of the Congregational church here. Her father preceded her in death on September 16, 1928 and her mother followed her husband in death on February 5, 1934. Survivors include an uncle, Vern Wager of Arlington and an aunt, Mrs. A. C. Wimer of Nye, Wisconsin, also a number of more distant relatives.

Dr. E. Merle Adams conducted the services. Mrs. Alice Newsom, accompanied Lucy Lawson and Mrs. Alvin Anderson who sang “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Nearer My God To Thee”. Therlo Reckmeyer sang “Rock of Ages”. She was laid to rest in the Arlington Cemetery beside her parents. Members of the Modern Woodman Lodge of America served as pallbearers.
