HARVE BANTA DIED JUNE 17th

Harve Banta was born February 23, 1887 at Lyons, Nebraska and departed this life June 17, 1948 at St. Catherine’s Hospital, Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 61 years, 3 months and 25 days. He was first stricken last Saturday night while at work. His death was caused by a heart attack which was sudden and unexpected.

He was married to Anne Mundorf at Sioux City, Iowa Nov. 13, 1906. They made their home at Lyons, Nebraska for a number of years. Later moving to Blair where they resided till 1934. Again moving to Omaha until the time of his death.

He was a member of First Christian church at Blair, Florence Lodge No. 281 A.F. and A.M.

He is survived by three brothers: John Banta of Omaha; Albert Shepard of Bancroft, Nebraska; Frank Shepard of Platte, So. Dakota. Three sisters, Mrs. Pearl Noyes, Sioux City, Iowa; Mrs. Alma Lilly, Spearfish, So. Dak.; Mrs. Stella McMullen of Elk City, Okla; Stepdaughter Mrs. Erminie Smith of Omaha; granddaughter, Phyllis Smith; grandsons, Wayne, William and Eugene Smith all of Omaha; nieces and nephews and host of other friends.

He was kind-hearted, a good neighbor and industrious citizen.

Funeral services were held at the Campbell Mortuary in Blair Sunday afternoon. The Rev. Sidney L. McCaig of First Methodist church officiated, and burial followed in the Blair cemetery.
