WILLIAM HERMAN JACOBSEN, 71

Services were Monday, November 6 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Tekamah for William H. Jacobsen, 71 of Tekamah who died Friday, November 3, 1989 at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair after a brief illness. Rev. David L. Nystrom and Rev. John O. McCaslin officiated. Interment will be in Green-wood Cemetery at Wayne, Nebraska.

William Herman Jacobsen was born November 28, 1917 at Wayne, Nebraska to Wilhelm and Martha Heibel Jacobsen. He attended school at Wayne and married Elizabeth Phillips on November 1, 1942. She died in July, 1967.

He married Ruth Dohman on June 12, 1975 at Yankton, South Dakota. He worked as an owner/operator truck driver and in later years worked as a carpenter. Prior to moving to Tekamah in 1976, Bill had been a resident of both Wayne and Blair.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 3215 of Blair and of Emmanuel Lutheran Church at Tekamah.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife and one sister, Amanda Baker.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth M. Jacobsen of Tekamah; one son, Donald E. Jacobsen of Aurora; one daughter, Barbara Cottone of Omaha; 14 step-children, Tony Dohman, Richard Dohman, Kathleen Race, Joyce Denney, Larry Dohman, Sally Nosal, Jeanne Harshbarger and John Dohman, all of Norfolk; Marjorie Antelmi of Aurora, Colorado; Kenneth Dohman and Harold Dohman, both of Omaha; Delores Finton of Keokuk, Iowa; Charlene Dohman of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Carolyn Barron of Champaign, Illinois. Twenty-four grandchildren; one great-grandson; two sisters, Elsie Kleensang of Hoskins and Erna Mildrum of Fremont also survive him.

hamel & Peck Funeral Home in Tekamah were in charge of arrangements for the services.
