Johann Heinrich Alexander “Henry”

HENRY PLUGGE, 88, FUNERAL HELD

Funeral services for Henry Plugge, Sr., 88, retired Arlington farmer, were held on Tuesday, June 8th, at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran church in Fremont. Rev. Victor Hoffmann officiated.

Plugge has been in failing health for several months and died at his home Friday.

He is survived by his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Sophia Dickmeyer, Fremont; and Mrs. Alice Hansen, Ames; five sons, Henry J. of Fremont; Arthur and Fred of Arlington; August, Stockton, Calif. and Lawrence of Fresno, Calif.; one brother, Fred of Kennard; 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Miss Ruth Eggert sang “For Me to Die is Jesus” and “Jerusalem, City Fair and High” accompanied by organist Martin Senske.

Acting pallbearers were Obert Hartung and Vernon Brackett, Fremont; Chester Heuerman, Albert Plugge and Arthur Johnson, Arlington; and Henry Plugge, Kennard. Burial was in the family lot at Memorial Park in Fremont.
