ALFRED L. COOK RITES TUESDAY

Alfred L. Cook of Benson died Saturday, June 5, following a protracted illness. Deceased was at his death seventy three years of age. He was reared on a farm in the Arlington vicinity.

In his early life he followed teaching and was for three years county superintendent of this county. After leaving the office he turned to farming which he followed for a number of years.

Around 1918 he moved to Benson and took a position with the U.P. railroad in the office where he served for a number of years.

He was married to Miss Bessie Blaco, daughter of the late Richard Blaco, and to them five children were born. Harry of Grand Island, Donald of Omaha, Mrs. John Hodges of Omaha, Martha and Richard of New Mexico.

Funeral services were held June 8th at 2 p.m. in Omaha, and interment was made in the Kennard cemetery beside the wife who preceded him in 1921.

Deceased was a man of more than ordinary ability and good judgement and was highly respected by those who knew him.
